European Parliament – The Iran Delegation, EP-Iran Delegation1

To: Tarja Cronberg (Chair), and

Dear Madam Chair,

Time after time, the EP-Iran delegation has frivolously pursued organizing trips to Iran. This year the MEPs’ visit, as we have learned, has been scheduled to start on Friday April, 26, 2013.

In recent years EU has enforced its toughest sanctions on Iran that has never imposed against any other country. These sanctions have aimed at Iran’s human rights abuses, as well as its nuclear weapons program. Such EU’s resolutions have shown that that European Union has stood strongly and united against a defiant regime that has no respect for international norms and regulations. However, the MEP’s scheduled visit to Tehran is actually nothing more than shooting itself in the foot and considered as a last forlorn effort, after seven years of feckless rounds of nuclear talks through P5+1, by the European Parliament to pacify the theocratic mullahs in the vain hope that the regime can be persuaded to stop its nuclear program and improve human rights. European Parliament – The Iran Delegation,

Tarja Cronberg (Chair), and Members

Dear Madam Chair,

Once again the oppressed Iranian people were shocked to hear an absurd report from European Parliament in regard to embarking on an official visit of their lawmakers to Iran. The question on every Iranian mind is: “How can they even think of going to Tehran at this stage of time?” It seems that there is a sever discord between European Parliament and European Union proceedings when it comes to Iran policy. On 15 October 2012, EU member States have imposed new sanctions on Iran for its reckless behavior that endangers global security, a dramatic reminder that relations with Iran cannot be business as usual. These punitive steps are meant to persuade Iran to engage constructively by addressing the concerns of the International community.  However the trip of EP delegation while basically undermines such EU’s efforts and consequently results in the detraction from their achievement of broader objectives, it would also send incongruous messages to Tehran, making the regime to callously exploit the visit for propaganda purposes. It would be paradoxical and the European Parliament should not play into the hands of Iranian regime. Read more…

For decades United States is among the countries, which has massively suffered from the Islamic Republic of Iran’s (IRI’s) sponsorship of terrorism worldwide. It has all started in 1979 when Islamic regime ordered the seizure of the U.S. embassy in Tehran in which 66 Americans were held hostage for 444 days. Later in 1983 the suicide bombing of U.S. military barracks in Beirut executed by the Islamic Jihad Organization, an Iranian regime’s terror proxy, left 299 Americans dead. The Khobar Towers bombing in 1996 carried out by IRI-supported groups of Hezbollah resulted in death of 19 U.S. service men. 60% of all American combat casualties in Iraq and 50% of combat casualties in Afghanistan have been caused by IRI-made IEDs. More importantly the footprint of IRI’s terrorism in America has become more apparent when the U.S. District Court Rules Iran Behind 9/11 Attacks. Read more…

Two Human Rights Activists, Recipients of Nobel Peace Prizes & their Visions

DefendIranDemoc – Aug 25, 2011
Two human rights activists, recipients of Nobel Peace Prizes talk about their visions for their countries. One from Iran, Shirin Ebadi, whose fear from threat and tyranny made her flee the country, Iran only to leave her oppressed fellow countrymen alone. And the other Aung San Suu Kyi whose courage and commitment find her a prisoner of principles and integrity in her own country, Burma. One who spent her whole life to defend Islam, and the other who courageously opposed herself alone to the rifle barrels to defend her people’s freedom and democracy.

A few days ago I received an email introducing a new website mainly for English-language users, entitled “Iraniansforum.com” ,  and asking people to join by registering and signing in on the website and start publishing articles. A familiar name, Hassan Dai, was noted as the chief editor of the website. Being familiar with Hassan Dai’s two other websites and his protracted work in dealing with NIAC, my initial reaction to this email was to respond it Read more…

Dear Senators Mark Kirk and Kirsten Gillibrand, and Congressmen Robert Dold and Ted Deutch

On May 4, 2011, you have introduced the resolution, The Iran Human Rights and Democracy Promotion Act of 2011, and asserted that the bipartisan legislation would make it the policy of the United States to deny the Iranian regime the ability to oppress the people of Iran, to fully support democratic activists inside Iran, and to help the Iranian people freely and safely access and share information. Why did U.S. give green light to Iraqi forces on Ashraf attack?

April 14, 2011 Leave a comment
After Iraq war, U.S. has established heavy presence in Iraq, militarily and politically. For about every 500 Iraqis there is one American, about the same ratio was held in Iran during the Shah’s time, the only difference is that the square-miles area of Iran is about 4 times of Iraq. As such it can be deduced that U.S. presence in Iraq is four times more crowded than it was in Iran during Shah’s time. Currently there are about 47,000 U. S. forces in Iraq, Read more…
